Philabundance Community Kitchen

Philabundance is a proud member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks leading the fight against hunger in the United States. Philabundance Community Kitchen is a 16-week culinary vocational training program that has been transforming the lives of women and men with low-to-no income since 2000. Philabundance Community Kitchen promotes the self-sufficiency of its students by preparing them for and connecting them to work in the foodservice industry and allows them to give back by preparing needed meals for those in need. Another focus of the curriculum is on life skills, which helps students not only secure a job but provides tools to build a career and a second chance at life. Students in the 560-hour program will earn their ServSafe certificate, receive training and intern in the culinary industry, prepare meals for those in need, and receive services for a minimum of two years to ensure that graduates maximize their employment opportunities and continue to build positive work behavior post-graduation. Overall, Philabundance works to elevate the voices of its clients, volunteers, and partners to help raise awareness of hunger to bring in food, funds, and advocates.
