Freedom Foundation International

Freedom Foundation International is a nonprofit organization that investigates and helps get the release of the wrongfully convicted. Their mission is to investigate and litigate claims of innocence by long-term California Prisoners'. The Freedom Foundation was established for the single purpose of providing resources for innocent prisoners who are incarcerated. The organization primarily locates prisoners with credible claims of innocence and provides funding for legal expenses to exonerate them. The organization was suspended in 1996 and re-booted its cause in 2020 due to the huge demand for assistance.  Since then, they helped over 2,095 innocent prisoners adjudicated and released from prison. Between 1 and 5 percent of the prison population are actually innocent,  there are thousands of unjustly incarcerated prisoners in this country at any given time. Therefore, this organization focuses on freeing unjustly imprisoned individual rotting away in custody.
