Angela House is a community based nonprofit that provides rehabilitative services to formerly incarcerated women. Women learn the skills needed for independent living and obtain the resources to shed behaviors that led to their incarceration. Each program offers individual and group therapy, medical and mental health care referrals, dental and vision care, job readiness training, twelve-step recovery groups, and emotional and spiritual support. Residents entering Angela House get help from a case manager and therapist to create an individualized plan for their therapy and well-being needs. For the first four to six months, residents focus on recovery, attend 12-step meetings, medical appointments and individual and group counseling. As they progress through the program, they receive intensive education programming that includes life skills and financial literacy. After that initial period, residents secure stable employment while investing 75% of their earnings into a Resident Savings Account.
