Boston Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section

Boston Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section

Description

The Boston Bar Association is the Commonwealth’s premier legal association, home to over 15,000 members and 140 institutional partners consisting of law firms, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, and law schools. Its Criminal Law section is the home for state and federal prosecutors, public defenders, and private bar defense attorneys representing clients in the criminal justice system. Members discuss public policy issues impacting the practice, including state legislation and changes in court rules and procedures. The Section also creates educational programming to keep members updated on new developments and best practices. The Boston Bar Association brings people together to exchange ideas, build relationships and expand professional networks. It is also guided by the expertise of hundreds of volunteers across dozens of practice areas and industries. These volunteers work to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, foster a diverse and inclusive professional community, and serve the community at large. They believe that no one in need of legal aid should be turned away based on the inability to pay and that justice is best advanced when the legal community reflects the diversity of the community it serves.
