California Reentry Institute
Description
California Reentry Institute is a nonprofit organization that provides pre and post release services for incarcerated men in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at San Quentin State Prison. The mission of California Reentry Institute is to transform lives and make communities safer, which they do through reintegration preparation and lifelong aftercare resources for justice impacted men. California Reentry Institute's Empowerment Reentry Program was established in 2009 as a way to fully address the needs of men reentering society. Pre-release program participants are provided with individualized case management, parole planning, and approximately one hundred four hour sessions of extensive expert driven curriculum where participants learn to live a life of ammends by honoring themselves, and those that they hurt. Post-release program participants are provided with seamless transition support through housing, employment opportunities and additional resources for life.
