Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque
Description
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Debuque include targeted programs to assist incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. These services include individual case management, guidance and mentorship, and peer support groups. For individuals who are about to reenter the community after incarceration, Catholic Charities offers services at no cost to participants. The mentorship program pairs individuals with volunteers who act as role models, attend meetings with participants and provide ongoing support to prevent relapse or a return to criminal behavior. The Circles of Support and Accountability program stresses strong, positive relationships with peers and also helps connect formerly incarcerated individuals with community resources like transitional housing programs, job development services and treatment programs. All volunteers are committed to helping individuals overcome the barriers they race during the reentry process through a combination of compassion and understanding. For more information about available services, individuals are encouraged to contact one of the office locations in Dubuque or Waterloo.
