Cerro Coso Community College is a recipient of the Currently and Formerly Incarcerated Students Reentry Program grant. This funding has allowed the college to develop a reentry program that meets the needs of justice involved students and helps to prepare them for a sustainable, successful life after incarceration. The Reentry Program Coordinator works with all participants during intake to establish the specific support services that each student requires in order to be successful in the program. Among other things, the program prepares and distributes reentry resource packets tailored to the county of release, as well as workshops inside correctional facilities, to help prepare participants for reintegration. They also assist with the application process at Cerro Coso Community College, accesses financial aid resources and connecting students with organizations on campus that welcome justice impacted individuals.
