Chicago Transit Authority

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is a municipal transit agency that provides public transportation services to the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs. The CTA operates a network of buses and elevated/subway trains that serve more than 1.5 million riders on an average weekday. The system covers over 1,000 route miles and includes more than 140 bus routes and eight train lines. They also offers various customer service options, such as real-time arrival information, trip planning tools, and customer service representatives.
CTA’s Second Chance program is a nationally recognized program that provides valuable job skills and career opportunities to Chicago residents who often face challenges re-entering the workforce. It not only provides jobs to returning citizens, victims of abuse and others who face barriers to employment, but also offers various training, education, mentoring and networking opportunities.
