City Bar Justice Center
Description
City Bar Justice Center is a community based organization committed to increasing access to equitable justice in New York. Their mission is to serve low-income individuals and those who face systemic barriers to justice due to socioeconomic status. City Bar Justice Center relies heavily on volunteers from the New York City legal community to provide key support and legal services to qualifying individuals. The organization operates a variety of programs that range from advocacy and policy work to direct representation and support for asylum seekers. The Immigrant Justice Project is designed to support individuals who are fleeing persecution and seeking residence in the United States, as well as survivors of human trafficking. The Legal Clinic for the Homeless offers advocacy and representation for individuals who face chronic housing insecurity or who are facing legal matters related to homeless shelters. For more information about specific programs, or to inquire about legal representation, individuals are encouraged to use legal hotline during business hours or the online request form.
