Colorado CURE (Citizens United for Rehabilitation of Errants) is a nonprofit member organization that is recognized as the leading organization making efforts to reduce crime through criminal justice reform. CO CURE is an all-volunteer criminal justice advocacy organization dedicated to making positive changes in the criminal justice system. Their aim is to provide information, support, and resources, to serve as an effective voice in gaining public attention for positive changes and improvements in policies and laws. The CURE office also provides resources to the family of incarcerated people; facilitates monthly support group on sex offender issues, assist with reentry resources such as housing, education and employment. Colorado CURE believes that prisons should be used only for those who absolutely must be incarcerated. The basic premise of CURE is that the Nation must stop paying for big, new prisons, and start directing more money toward crime prevention, rehabilitative programs for those who must be in prison, and community-based programs for those who should not be incarcerated but still need correctional services.
