Colorado Legal Services

Description

Colorado Legal Services (CLS) is a non-profit organization that provides legal help to low-income Coloradans seeking assistance with civil legal needs. They provide free legal advice, clinics and representation to low-income Coloradans and seniors who are eligible. In most cases, CLS is required to follow the Federal Poverty Guidelines in order to determine financial eligibility, but, in some instances, eligibility requirements may differ. CLS can help with family law, Consumer/debt problems, housing law, wills and probate, tax issues, other civil cases and immigration. This office doesn't provide assistance in criminal cases. They have an intake process that all applicants must complete. In order to help, CLS may offer you advice from an attorney about your problem, help you file your own case in court, refer you to a legal aid clinic, or to another program or agency that may be able to help.CLS has branch offices in Alamosa, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Craig, Denver, Dillon, Durango, Ft. Collins, Grand Junction, Greeley, La Junta, Pueblo and Salida. Unlike criminal cases, there is no right to an attorney in civil cases for low-income Coloradans therefore with available resources, CLS provides legal assistance to eligible citizens.
