Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project
Description
The Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project is an organization that assists individuals in need of quality legal representation. Volunteer attorneys have offered pro bono services for more than thirty years through the Dayton Bar Association. Their mission is to pair attorneys who wish to provide pro bono services with individuals who cannot afford legal representation on their own. Currently, the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project is only able to provide services related to civil cases and cannot assist with criminal charges or appeals. The first step to receive services is to schedule an information clinic with an attorney. Individuals may only schedule this appointment through the Legal Aid Line, which conducts an intake interview. During this interview, individuals provide information about the case that can help attorneys determine whether or not representation is the best option. If it is not, individuals may meet with an attorney to discuss programs and resources to resolve the issue without an attorney.
