JEVS Looking Forward Reentry Program

Description

JEVS Human Services seeks to help the people they serve lead self-determined, connected, and hopeful lives that strengthen themselves, their families, and their communities. Each year, JEVS Human Services touches nearly 25,000 lives, focusing on individuals with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges as well as those facing adverse socio-economic conditions including unemployment and underemployment. Their most relevant program, Looking Forward Philadelphia, provides an array of social services and employment help designed to meet the immediate and longer-term needs of individuals returning from incarceration. Some of these services include an 18-hour reentry boot camp to help meet most immediate needs, comprehensive needs assessment and individualized next steps plan, one-on-one case management by a trained resource coordinator, referrals to services through 40+ community partners including housing, health care, legal services and more, Job search and placement help, access to skills training, and basic education services. Additionally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Looking Forward Reentry Program is providing a virtual boot camp over zoom or over the phone.
