Kansas Bar Association – Pro Bono Services
Description
The Kentucky Legal Services Pro Bono Program is a subdivision of the Kentucky Bar Association that serves low income families. The purpose of the program is to offer legal support to adults and children in need of services with no charge to clients. No potential client receives an attorney's contact information without expressed approval from the attorney themselves. All potential clients must first partake in a screening to determine financial eligibility for services through Kentucky Legal Services. Many of the cases recommended to the Pro Bono Services program are be cases that the organization is unable to take on due to conflicts and other barriers. Individuals utilizing the program must understand that the attorney assigned has offered to provide services at no cost for the referred case only, and they cannot provide legal counsel or advice on adjacent cases. Clients also acknowledge that they may be required to pay filing fees with the court, witness fees associated with the case, etc. Acceptance of the case is with no expectation of payment for legal fees associated specifically with the attorney's time and representation.
