Let Our Violence End – L.O.V.E
Description
Let Our Violence End is a nonprofit organization serving at-risk youth and formerly incarcerated youth in Central Arkansas. They were founded to address the growing problem with street gangs and juvenile crime in Little Rock, but now partner with Little Rock School District and other local organizations to address the needs of young people touched by the criminal justice system. Their programs assist with reentry after incarceration, address violence in public schools and utilize peer mentorship to encourage nonviolence. Victory Over Violence is an initiative to combat violence in the community through public walks and community education, as well as prayer meetings and regular events to discuss alternatives to violence. Mentoring Re-entry offers residential services and life development support during the reentry process. Staff include formerly incarcerated adults reentering the community who act as adult mentors to juveniles impacted by the criminal justice system. Let Our Violence End also operates a food pantry and provides ongoing mentoring for young people in need of positive reinforcement.
