New Jersey Parents’ Caucus

New Jersey Parents' Caucus (NJPC) is a coalition of parents, caregivers and young adults with lived experience whose mission is to ensure that families raising children with emotional, behavioral, mental health and substance use challenges have the opportunity to play a strong and active role in the development and delivery of services in the mental health, juvenile justice and special education systems. The NJPC Parents Empowerment Academy is a comprehensive training and education program that enables parents of children with emotional and behavioral challenges to appropriately and collaboratively negotiate with government agencies and other system partners. The New Jersey Youth Caucus is comprised of youth with emotional and/or behavioral health needs who have prior or current involvement in the juvenile justice system. The purpose of the Caucus is to improve outcomes for system-involved youth through meaningful and authentic youth involvement on all levels of decision making and strengthen the juvenile justice and mental health systems in New Jersey.
