Description

The Ohio Ex-Offender Reentry Coalition is a division of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction focused on reentry. Their mission is to actively reduce recidivism and promote public safety by assisting formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reintegrate into the community. Part of their efforts include collaborative partnerships with other government organizations, as well as nonprofit organizations committed to assisting individuals with criminal convictions. They utilize research based methods to offer assistance in key areas that often pose barriers to reentry. The Ohio Ex-Offender Reentry Coalition promotes access to educational opportunities, assists with family reunification, coordinates access to health services, refers individuals to recovery and treatment programs, and assists individuals with access to job and housing services in the community. Though operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, staff with the coalition are committed to ensuring that individuals do not violate the terms of their release and end the cycle of incarceration.
