Project Hope Center, Inc.
Description
Project Hope Center, Inc. was founded to assist justice involved individuals and their families with the challenges around incarceration. As a nonprofit organization, Project Hope Center, Inc. runs primarily on the backs of its volunteers, who are dedicated to helping incarcerated women locate safe, stable housing facilities when they return to the community. The organization collaborates with local residential facilities to place justice involved women ahead of release to ensure that women have somewhere to go immediately after they exit the corrections system. Recently, the organization has also developed reentry services to further support formerly incarcerated women during their return to the community with a goal of reducing recidivism for justice involved women. They have locations in South Carolina and California, with local volunteers assisting women in both states. Volunteers also work inside the Greenville Detention Center.
