St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County is a faith based organization that provides community support resources to individuals in the Oakland, California area. The Alameda County branch of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1938 with a mission of neighbors helping neighbors. sharing the Gospel and building a more just world through offering service to people in need. Kind and helpful volunteers and staff of The Center work directly with clients to provide resources for showers, hot meals, laundry facilities, clothing closets, wellness and podiatry health care clinics, and referrals to services outside the scope of St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County. Through the collaboration of the City of Oakland, they're able to provide emergency overnight shelter 365 days per year for up to 45 homeless residents of Oakland and Emeryville. Additionally, St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County provides case management to individuals facing barriers to gainful employment due to low income, incarceration, and other at-risk populations to provide job training and professional support.
