Thames River Community Service, Inc.
Thames River Community Service is an organization committed to providing support for individuals and families experiencing crisis. Their services are designed to assist individuals in need of safe, stable housing, survivors of domestic violence, and those requiring treatment for chemical dependence and/or mental health crisis. The Thames River Family Program is the oldest program facilitated by the organization, and it was developed to provide support for single women with children during housing emergencies. Now, the program facilitates transitional housing for young parents ages 18-24, many of whom are exiting the foster care system or who are survivors of human trafficking. Participants often exit the program into permanent, safe housing situations within one year of entering the program. Thames River Supportive Housing Program provides services to those in need of treatment for chemical dependence and/or mental illness. The Rapid Rehousing Program for Youth serves young people experiencing homelessness, offering both emergency housing and case management appropriate to the age.
