The Empowerment Center
The Empowerment Center Reno Transitional Housing program supports individuals returning to the community after incarceration or exiting substance abuse treatment centers. Their mission is to offer residential and support services to women working to manage addictive behaviors. The women who enter Reno Transitional Living often come from corrections facilities, but may also enter program after brief substance abuse treatment, through referral from another community organization, or from the streets of Reno. Staff understand the role that homelessness can play in the cycle of incarceration, and how it contributes to chronic addictive behaviors. They are committed to ensuring that women have the best chance at successfully achieving sobriety and permanently reentering the community. Additionally, the Empowerment Center facilitates outpatient treatment services for individuals with substance abuse or mental health disorders, and hosts Reno 12-step Recovery. For more information about specific services or eligibility, individuals should contact the organization directly using the information on this page.
