The Other Side Academy
The Other Side Academy (TOSA) is a training school in which students learn pro-social, vocational and life skills free of cost, allowing them to emerge with a healthy life on "the other side." The program is available as an alternative to those facing long-term incarceration and those seeking a change from the life they've chosen in the past. This program is offered in Salt Lake City and Denver. TOSA's comprehensive two-year residential program, accompanied by a six-month transitional program, offers vocational training, education, peer counseling, mentoring/leadership training and transitional services. The school accepts both men and women that are pre-and post-sentencing, and ready to learn a new and better way to live. Those seeking admission into the Academy must commit to attending for thirty months. TOSA teaches students fundamental personal management and relationship skills such as keeping one's promise, accountability, love, charity, and dependability. In addition to learning self-governance, students work full-time at one of TOSA's vocational training schools where they can learn marketing, business and trade skills.
