Their services focus on: education, entrepreneurship, jobs and training, housing, community justice and health. Urban League of Broward County serves approximately 14,000 individuals every year, including more than 2,000 individuals who complete small business training and more than 1,000 who complete homebuyer's education. Housing Programs focus on providing support to individuals who hope to own a home but face barriers to securing a loan or entering into home ownership. The Crime Prevention and Intervention program targets at-risk youth and works to prevent them from entering the justice system. Staff also assist justice involved youth with expunging records and provide individualized case management. Both Thrive and Project Embrace offer targeted counseling and support services for young people in the justice system, as well as those at risk of entering the system due to mental health or chemical dependence.
