Wilmington Hope Commission

Description

The Wilmington Hope Commission is community-based organization that serves justice-impacted individuals during reentry. Their mission is to act as partners to formerly incarcerated individuals and assist them with navigating the many barriers to successful reintegration and perpetuate a cycle of recidivism. They do this through the combined efforts of direct advocacy, concrete support for and evidence-based assistance of justice-involved individuals returning to the community. The Achievement Center is a collaborative hub which serves adult men reentering communities in the zip codes 19801, 19802 and 19805. They target individuals with higher risks of returning to prison and offer support as individuals approach the end of post-release conditions. Currently, the center does not serve individuals with convictions for sex crimes. The Enhanced Workforce Development Program, also sponsored by Wilmington Hope Commission, assists individuals with important job develop and placement services that promote self-sufficient living.
