The American Civil Liberties Union is one of the largest advocacy organizations in the nation focused specifically on protecting constitutional rights for all individuals. ACLU Illinois is a state chapter of the national organization that fights to to defend individual rights in Illinois through litigation, legislation, and public education. The mission of ACLU Illinois is built on working daily in courts, legislations and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties of the constitution. ACLU Illinois works with communities statewide to defend and preserve individual rights and freedoms. The foundation of ACLU Illinois is built on the core values of individual liberties, justice, and equality. ACLU Illinois values collaboration within the organization to accomplish their goals; integrity in pursuit of their mission; and organizational leadership committed to achieving individual rights and civil liberties within the community.
