Section Title

Advocates for Inmates

Advocates for Inmates is an organization that provides direct advocacy and education to support incarcerated individuals before and after release. They work with individuals to obtain pre-release transfers to transitional housing communities approved by BOP to ensure safe, stable residential services after release. Advocates for Inmates also prepares individuals for release, coaching them about requirements for supervised release and helping them to obtain any necessary documents, complete in-take for a residential program and determine any treatment needs. Staff and volunteers assist individuals in understanding the parole and probation process to prevent technical violations and reincarceration. Individuals can contact the program directly with questions or to request services.
