Alabama Department of Human Resources' mission is to provide for the protection, well-being, and self-sufficiency of children and adults. They offer family services and job services programs. The family services offered by the Alabama Department of Human Resources are Alabama Fatherhood Initiative, Adoption, Adult Protective Services, Baby Box Initiative, Chafee Education and Training Voucher Program, Child Care Services, Child Support Payment Information, Child Support Enforcement, Children and Family Services Policy, D.R.E.A.M Council, Families 4 Alabama’s Kids, Family Coaches Program, Foster Care, ILP Goals, JOBS, Family Assistance, and Transitional Child Care (TCC). The JOBS Program which is DHR’s welfare-to-work program is operational in all 67 Alabama counties. The program provides services and work supports to parents receiving cash assistance to help them find and retain employment. The Alabama Department of Human Resources will help families receive the least disruptive services they need when they need them, and for only as long as they need them in order to maintain children in or return them to a safe, stable home.
