Alaska Department of Administration Public Defender Agency

The Public Defender Agency is a division of Alaska Department of Administration that provides constitutionally mandated legal representation to impoverished clients appointed by the court. Alaska Department of Administration Public Defender Agency focuses on four legal divisions to assist indigent clients in need of public representation. These services include criminal, civil, appellate and administrative representation. The Criminal Division fully represents justice impacted individuals through cases involving felony and misdemeanor charges and assistance with petitions to revoke probation. The Civil Division represents minors in juvenile delinquency cases. The Appellate Division handles statewide appeals and post-conviction relief applications. Finally, The Administrative Section offers administrative support services to all thirteen offices of the Alaska Department of Administration Public Defender Agency.
