The Books for Prisoners Project seeks to get leadership, motivational, self-help, inspirational, and recovery books into local penal institutions. Their hope is that these types of books will be made available to all prisoners who have an interest in self-improvement. They further hope, and sincerely believe, that the dissemination of this type of material to prison inmates will help to cut down on recidivism. The Books for Prisoners Project also believes that, by making this material available to the inmates, they can help in some small way to prevent a future loss of life, through the reform of inmate thinking. They are also in the process of making these books available to homeless veterans, at-risk youth, and other disadvantaged persons, as well as expanding their program to penal institutions in other countries.
