Brennan Center for Justice

The Brennan Center for Justice is a legal organization that believes in access to equitable justice for all individuals in the United States. They are staffed by legal experts, professional writers, sociologists, activists and skilled researchers who combine their skills to provide clear and actionable resources for justice-impacted individuals and criminal justice reform activists. Their mission is to conduct nonpartisan legal work and policy initiatives through three targeted approaches. First, the Brennan Center for Justice operates as a think tank, using comprehensive data and research analysis to identify problems within the justice system and develop concrete solutions to address issues. They are also a team of advocates who work inside and outside the court system, as well as with legislators, to both defend and improve the right of all individuals to equitable justice. Finally, they function as a source for communicating information about criminal justice reform to a diverse audience, organizing and reframing complex data so that activists can utilize their respective resources for the most meaningful impact.
