Children of Inmates

Children of Inmates works with the Florida Department of Corrections to support children with one or more incarcerated parents. Their mission is to provide support and services that assist children with justice involved parents to disrupt intergenerational trauma and break the cycle of incarceration. Children of Inmates collaborates with faith-based organizations, volunteer staff and community members to support children in many ways. The Babies 'N Brains program provides support for infants and young children of incarcerated parents, including regular access to incarcerated parents and assistance maintaining a health bond between young children and their parents. The program also works with incarcerated parents to provide guidance and support developing the necessary skills to raise health young children. The Bonding Visits program assists children with transportation and access to incarcerated parents during visitation hours at local correctional facilities.
