Section Title

Children’s Safe Harbor, Inc.

Children’s Safe Harbor is dedicated to lessening the harmful effects of domestic violence for both adult and child victims in Illinois. Primarily, they provide a safe and supportive place to exchange children for visitation or for supervised visitation. Children’s Safe Harbor promotes healthy relationships between parents and children without risk of fear, intimidation, and post-separation abuse. The overall goal is to protect children from being victims of, or witness to, abuse or conflict during the visitation or exchange process between family members. Parents may access services through a court order, agency referral, or by self-request. Additionally, because many cases referred come from within the court system, Children's Safe Harbor is able to provide attorney resources in order to ensure a good working relationship with the courts, attorney’s and parents that is transparent. Children’s Safe Harbor is funded by a combination of private donations and public funding through civil filing fees of the residents of Winnebago County, however, donations are still accepted and appreciated. Contact Children's Safe Harbor directly for more information on their programs and services.
