The Public Defender's Office of Chippewa County is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. With one Chief Public Defender, one Deputy Public Defender, and one Assistant Public Defender, the Office provides representation for adult criminal defense only. If you are charged with a crime in Chippewa County, you will come to the 91st District Court for your arraignment. An arraignment is where you are formally accused of the crimes.
