Comprehensive Juvenile Services, Inc., or CJS, serves youth from all walks of life and family backgrounds experiencing such issues as family difficulties, problems in school, truancy, runaways, and delinquency. Since they were incorporated in 1976, this private, nonprofit organization has been dedicated to providing services to youth ages 8 to 17. Referrals come from the juvenile court system, law enforcement agencies, school personnel, churches, family members, and youth seeking assistance. Their ultimate goal is to provide community-based intervention and advocacy services that will reduce family conflict, promote family reunification, prevent juvenile delinquency, and empower young people to become successful and productive members of the community. Preventing youth entry and reducing further advancement into the juvenile justice system is high priority for CJS. Program services include, but are not limited to, individualized casework, aftercare, reentry support, mentoring, emergency shelter, sanctions, mental health assessments, therapy, residential family style care and support groups and classes.
