Connecticut Renaissance is a nonprofit organization that provides outpatient, community and residential programs. The mission of CT Renaissance is to help adolescents and adults affected by behavioral health disorders or criminal justice involvement to improve their overall health and well-being in order to reclaim their lives. The Community Release Programs are provided at three locations located in Waterbury and Bridgeport, serving males referred by the Connecticut Department of Correction. The goals of the programs are to offer residents the opportunity to learn how to overcome barriers to reentry, establish vocational and educational skills, support systems and independent living skills. The program aims to assist clients in recognizing and addressing barriers to successful reintegration. Through Case Management residents are offered guidance on mental health, medical and substance abuse issues. Case Managers aid residents in accessing resources for vocational/educational opportunities, individual and group therapy, 12 step self-help programs, family reunification and legal issues. Their Linking Youth to Natural Communities (LYNC) is a center-based program for court-involved youth and their families that supports in making sustainable behavioral changes by providing evidenced-based and evidence-informed services.
