Covenant House serves young people in Chicago ages 18-24 who are living without a home or at risk of homelessness. Their Youth Development Center is open during daytime hours to offer support and a safe space for youth in need. Covenant House also provides interim housing for young people. Interim housing units offer individuals a safe, stable place to stay while they work toward stability in their lives. Covenant House partners with local organizations that offer social services so that all youth in interim housing have the support they need to improve mentally, physically and financially. Emergency services ensure that youth in crisis are not exposed to the dangers inherent to living without a home. Additionally, the organization is developing Rights of Passage, a program to support those in transitional housing with wraparound services.
