Delaware Correctional Reentry Commission

The Delaware Department of Corrections Reentry Commission is a government sponsored program designed to support reintegration efforts. They assist formerly incarcerated individuals through four sectors: housing, education, job development and continuum of care. These four areas represent the most significant barriers that most justice involved individuals face when returning to the community. The Department of Corrections Reentry Commission works with local nonprofit and faith based organizations, as well as government sponsored programs, to ensure that individuals returning to the community successfully reintegrate. Individuals can request referrals to housing programs as they exit incarceration. This reduces the rate of homelessness among formerly incarcerated individuals and increases the likelihood that released individuals will live in a safe, stable environment. Similarly, job development and education services help individuals close gaps and begin on a pathway toward independence.
