Disability Rights Texas (DRTx) is an organization that helps protect people with disabilities from the myriad forms of discrimination that limit their full and equal participation in society. Their mission is to help people with disabilities understand and exercise their rights under the law, ensuring their full and equal participation in society. They provide direct legal assistance to people with disabilities whose rights are threatened or violated, protect the rights of individuals and groups of people with disabilities through the courts and justice system, educate and inform policymakers about issues that impact the rights and services for people with disabilities, inform people with disabilities and family members about their rights and make referrals to programs and services. DRTx has a Service Priorities and Resources tab where you can share problems you are facing because of your disability such as accessibility, Covid-19, community living, education and more. In accepting a case DRTx will see factors such as details of case, other resources available, if you can advocate for yourself and more.
