Disability Rights Washington is a nonprofit organization that protects the rights of individuals with disabilities across the state. The organization is a member organization of the National Disability Rights Network and is the designated Protection and Advocacy agency for Washington state. Disability Rights Washington has offices in Seattle, Spokane, and Olympia. The organization can be contacted for information about legal rights, community education and training, and legal services for disability rights violations. They also work for change in policies and laws that promote the legal rights and freedom of disabled individuals. In addition, their AVID program works to improve conditions, treatment, services, and reentry for disabled individuals who are incarcerated in the state of Washington as well as those who reside at the Special Commitment Center.
