Section Title

DOCCS New York Re-Entry Services

DOCCS New York Re-Entry Services is operated through the New York Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. The program is designed to assist individuals who are exiting the New York corrections system through targeted support services and case management. Parolees who reentering the community work with community supervision staff to secure referrals for transitional housing programs, treatment and disability services, medical treatment and referrals to job development programming. Re-Entry Services staff also collaborate with the Department of Corrections to ensure that all individuals participate in required coursework tied to their release, including substance abuse treatment programs, anger management courses and mandated counseling for domestic violence. Formerly incarcerated individuals can use the organization website to locate the Re-Entry Services office nearest them and request services. Individuals are also encouraged to use the contact information provided on the website to secure referrals or arrange participation in residential services programs or transitional housing communities.
