Family and Children's Aid is a nonprofit organization that provides residential services to mothers and their children struggling with homelessness in the Danbury, Connecticut area. Since their inception in 1809, Family and Children's Aid has served the community through their high quality, innovative behavioral health care services. Although their primary focus is on struggling youth, and the foster system, Family and Children's Aid believes in assisting families on a broader scale through their residential program, Harmony House. Harmony House is a temporary housing solution for mothers and children experience homelessness. Residents stay for an average of 90 days as they work to get their life back on track. Family and Children's Aid empowers program participants by providing them with the necessary support services for life skill building, employment aid, and additonal education so they can develop the skills they need to become more independent and self sufficient.
