The Federal Public Defender for the Western District of North Carolina's Charlotte office is the main public defender's office for the Western District of North Carolina. With one federal public defender, one first assistant public defender, and six panel attorneys on staff, the Charlotte Public Defender's office exists to provide legal assistance to people who are facing criminal charges in federal court and who are unable to afford a lawyer to represent them.
