FirstFollowers is a community based organization that believes all individuals deserve support and service regardless of socioeconomic status. FirstFollowers’ mission is to create strong and stable communities by offering targeted support, mentorship and hope to justice involved individuals and their loved ones through strong relationships. The organization provides a safe, nonjudgemental environment, peer mentorship, assistance with reentering the workforce, job development for adults with gaps in employment, direct advocacy for individuals with convictions for felony crime, family reunification assistance, and referrals to community support programs. This holistic approach to reentry is designed to help formerly incarcerated individuals overcome the variety of barriers they face when returning to the community and to disrupt the cycle of recidivism through targeted, successful personal development.
