Florida Legal Services

Florida Legal Services exists to advocate for the rights of all individuals and to provide concrete assistance for individuals in need. As advocates, attorneys with Florida Legal Services actively practice in state and federal courts, prioritizing cases which have strong ramifications for the rights of the state's most vulnerable populations. They focus on supporting and advocating for low-income individuals, as well as systemically or legally disenfranchised individuals. The Immigrant and Migrant Rights project provides advocacy and support for low-income immigrants and migrant workers whose rights are violated by employers, including assistance obtaining legal status and passports for minor children. The Florida Institutional Legal Services project focuses on the rights of indigenous communities residing inside Florida's boundaries. Florida Legal Services also maintains advocacy programs for survivors of domestic violence, individuals experiencing housing discrimination, and children involved in litigation or who lack access to permanent adult guardians.
