Georgia Works

Georgia Works is a community based organization that offers comprehensive interventions to reduce homelessness and recidivism in the community. Their mission is to actively work against systems that perpetuate housing insecurity and mass incarceration through the direct support and advocacy of justice involved and underserved members of the community. Their end goal is to assist all individuals on a path toward permanent self-sufficiency. The Housing Division focuses specifically on supporting low income individuals and families, veterans and formerly incarcerated individuals who face barriers to safe, permanent housing opportunities. The program eliminates many barriers, such as those that require tenants to provide deposits up front or provide evidence of credit to secure utilities. Georgia Works also has a division focused on providing individuals with vital job skills training, assistance preparing to enter the workforce, and a hiring program designed to help place individuals who often have a difficult time securing permanent employment.
