Good Neighbor Shelter

Good Neighbor Shelter is a community-based organization that serves individuals facing housing emergencies or experiencing homelessness. Their mission is to provide assistance to men, women and families who are in need of temporary housing through emergency shelter, emotional support and spiritual guidance. Staff work directly with individuals to determine their unique needs. The transitional housing program currently serves more than 30 children and 15 adults. Participants in the housing program typically meet low-income requirements and may live in the community for up to two years while they build toward permanent financial independence. Participants receive support as they navigate local certificate or community college programs. In addition to the housing program, the outreach program provides street-based support for individuals experiencing homelessness. Volunteers and staff provide tarps and tents to individuals, as well as access to food and basic necessities.
