The Hall County Public Defender's Office is located in Gainesville, Georgia. With ten attorneys and ten support staff, the office provides zealous and effective legal representation in Hall County's criminal and juvenile courts at a substantial savings to Hall County taxpayers as compared to a court-appointed lawyer system. The aim the Hall County Public Defender’s Office is to achieve justice, independent of political considerations or private interests, for those clients whose lives are entrusted in the hands of the public defenders. Hall County's public defender office ensures the protected right under the 6th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution to legal defense for those accused of felonies or juvenile offenses who cannot afford to pay for an attorney. Those who cannot afford private legal representation and require a public defender must first apply in person through the Hall County Indigent Defense Office. Incarcerated defendants may apply while in jail. The Hall County comes under the Northeastern Judicial Circuit.
