Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project

Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project is a community based organization committed to ensuring justice for immigrants living in Maine. As Maine’s only legal service organization focused on immigration litigation state-wide, Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project improves access to justice and equity for immigrants and their families through a combination of direct legal representation, education of the general public and advocacy efforts with policymakers. Their services assist Maine's immigrants with keeping their families in tact, locating safe spaces away from violence and persecution, gaining residency and employment authorization, and becoming documented United States citizens. The organization services thousands of Mainers every year, including members of the state’s immigrant communities, their loved ones, and their community neighbors. Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project partners and supporters assist the community by pressing advocacy issues locally and nationally to improve justice and equity for immigrants throughout Maine and to develop a brighter future for all residents of Maine.
