Initiative is a registered nonprofit organization serving the Atlanta community through a commitment to restoration and hope. Their mission is to provide support services to individuals and families facing homelessness through targeted programing. The homeless services program offers assistance for families in need of emergency housing, including support and mentorship for individuals recovering from traumatic experiences. Additionally, low-income individuals and families may qualify for housing services. Initiative maintains more than 300 units across four communities to ensure that all individuals have access to safe, stable housing regardless of their income status. The Re: Loom program offered by Initiative is an opportunity for individuals to maintain full-time employment with benefits. Employees receiving training on floor looms and work with donated fabrics to create clothing and other fabric garments for sale in the community. Initiative believes that these three programs help provide concrete pathways to independent financial stability for the community's most vulnerable populations.
