Iowa Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health

Iowa Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health is a community based collaborative of individuals protecting youth rights. The organization is staffed and run by the parents of children with mental health needs, as well as community members who have a vested interest in ensuring that young people have access to the care they require. One of their core missions is to educate and inform the community about how mental health impacts young people and why a continuum of care is so essential not just in the short term, but also in helping to prevent young people from entering the justice system as a result of untreated mental health needs. Members of Iowa Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health work to ensure that community stakeholders and policy makers invest time and energy into supporting children at every stage of treatment and care for mental health disorders.
